Having rails set up on your business
Rails, or clear limits, are essential to understanding how to run a business. It comes down to realizing what your business is and what your business is not. Ask yourself right when you start.
Who is your customer? Who is not your customer?
What areas and zip codes do you want to target? What areas and zip codes are you not interested in?
What types of jobs are you looking to take on? What types of job are you not interested in?
By having these clear boundaries when first establishing your business, you’ll have a deeper understanding of how to succeed. You’ll know and understand your business focus....

Use your network. Start by making a list of people you already know. Your friends, family, acquaintances, current coworkers. Whoever you can think of! Start talking to them about your passion and ask them if you can help them out with some of your landscaping services. Sure, not everyone you know will need or want landscaping services or even have a yard, but those people may be able to refer their network to you. It’s all about getting your name out there to the people you know and love so they can do the same for you.

I Remember, several years ago, when a good friend of mine and I, we were both getting our landscaping businesses off the ground at the same time.
So he told me the story of how he had gone to the ATM that day to get out like a couple of hundred bucks or something. Also, the person before him had forgotten their ATM receipt, and it was just hanging out of the ATM flapping in the wind. So he took it, and he looked at it, and he said it had like 19,900 and something dollars on the checking account, you know, 20 grand. So he called me up, and he sent me, I don't know if he sent me a picture of or something.
So he said, Wow, like Some people have 20 grand in the bank. So what he was saying was he didn't have 20 grand in the bank. Neither did I,
We were lucky to have a couple of grand in the bank,...

Because you're trying your best and working a million hours a week and it's not good enough.
You're stressed out because you're working constantly?
You're not making enough profit to be able to hire "qualified" people to help you?
And you're afraid to hire more people because you're afraid the work will slow down and then you will end up screwed.
You're in constant fight or flight mode and overwhelmed because all you know how to do...
Is pull the "work harder" lever.
But you're already working yourself to the point of a heart attack.
Well guess what?
Nobody cares, so quit complaining.
I read this amazing quote today.

As a business owner like you, there’s something I noticed that has been stewing in my mind for some days now. It’s a question that has resonated with me from the beginning of starting my business – Do I take myself seriously?
It’s a silly question, right? Not really.
When I was building The Landscaping Employee Trap training materials, I realized that your own outlook towards yourself has a huge impact in how you run your business.
Your business is also your job. It’s only natural that when you are beginning, you are focused on earning money, paying bills, reinvesting in your company, and feeding your family. When we start getting enough money to support ourselves, that’s when we start seeing the returns in our investments. From there we move into our deepest life’s purpose – the things we’ve always wanted to do. Taking yourself seriously could be the fastest way to increase income.
See, when you grow up as a kid...
I had an amazing discussion with a dude who makes $3.2 MILLION in revenue out of his roofing business. He was in the same spot as a lot of us before his business - poor upbringing, had kids early, and at one point he was even homeless. He worked dead-end jobs and was flat broke. He used to be a rapper as well!
Now, he has about 50 employees, 3 crews and full-office staff, 22 real estate properties, and his business is still growing. His name is Eric Reno and he’s here to tell us the hard truth about starting your business from the ground up.
Everything evolves and grows a little bit at a time as long as you are consistent with what you do. As you’re taking one bite after another, you’ll have more problems and that’s alright. There should be things about your business that make you nervous, this means you’re taking chances.
“It’s like growing pains when you’re a teenager. Your business is growing, so in turn,...

For a starter, it sure is tough getting in on the game, or is it? Let me tell you now, in the technological age, it has gotten a lot easier to learn the secrets of the trade, you just have to know where to look. Like calling the landscape supplier and canceling an order that you just placed a couple of hours ago and then call them 30 minutes later, resubmitting the order. And then calling them half an hour later, AGAIN, and canceling the same order. They might even ask, "are you sure you want to be a landscaper?"

One common misconception about the window cleaning business is that it looks like a piece of cake from the outside, but it can be the exact opposite from the inside. I'm excited to share these tips with you, so let’s get right into it!
Fourteen billion dollars a year ($14,000,000,000/year!) is spent on cleaning services in the United States alone. There are people who need help cleaning their houses or washing their cars who would rather spend a little of their money to save time and spend it with their families.
So what do houses and cars have in common? WINDOWS! Yes, you read that right. Windows are literally everywhere! And these windows need to be cleaned. That means MONEY IS EVERYWHERE when you are in the window...
